We’re Back!

We took a little break for some big life changes…

Hi, howdy, hey! Did you miss us?

The Dapple has been on a break for the past four months because we’ve been devoting our days to changing diapers, reading (so many!) board books, and bonding with our brand-new baby girl, Bridget.

To be honest, I spent our break feeling pretty uncertain about the future of The Dapple. A lottt of people asked me if we planned to switch the site from dog content to kid content. And while I have zero desire to be a mommy blogger, I kept wondering if it would be weird to continue writing about our fur babies now that we have a fur-less baby.

After a lot of mulling and fingernail-chewing, I still don’t know if it’s weird. But I can definitively tell you that The Dapple will keep being a happy little pocket of the internet exclusively celebrating pup parenthood.

Here’s the thing—in all my angst, I kept coming back to why we founded The Dapple in the first place. The internet is full of amazing websites dedicated to finding the best foods, products, and experiences for kids. (I know because I have spent a whole lot of time reading those sites lately!) But two years after we started The Dapple, there still aren’t that many places to discover beautifully-crafted dog products, natural dog foods, or dog-friendly spaces.

So much has changed for our little family since we launched this site in November 2017, but the bottom line is that I’m just as passionate as ever about supporting small businesses in the pet industry, trying new pup products, and giving our dogs a great life.

Whether you’ve been here for the past two years or you’ve just found our site, I hope you’ll join us!

Hugs to you all, and happy New Year!

XO Heather

P.S. I know it’s a little annoying, but—after a whole lot of debate—we’ve decided to let little Bridget create her own presence on the internet when she’s ready, so we won’t be sharing pictures of her face on here or our social media. I know it’s kind of sad (because she’s real cute!), so I definitely apologize if you were hoping for baby pictures. Hang tight for another eighteen years?
